Title: Vice President / Director of Capture

Location: Greater Washington, DC Area

Job Type: Full-Time

Company Overview:

A fast-growing federal services and technology-enabled facilities solutions company is hiring a senior Capture leader to help shape its next stage of growth.

The company operates at the intersection of facilities management, operations and maintenance, real estate, workplace transformation, smart buildings, building automation, mission support, data analytics, and AI-enabled solutions. Its work supports complex federal environments where buildings, technology, people, and mission outcomes are deeply connected.

This is a builder’s environment. The company has grown beyond the small-business stage and has a meaningful federal contract footprint, but it still values people who stay close to the work, solve problems practically, and build inside real-world constraints. The right person will be surrounded by leaders and teams who are still actively shaping the business, not simply maintaining a finished machine.

Role Summary:

The Vice President / Director of Capture will lead capture strategy and execution for strategic federal opportunities, from early identification through customer engagement, win strategy, solution development, pricing coordination, and proposal submission.

This is not a ceremonial leadership seat. The company needs someone who can operate credibly with executives and senior federal customers while also digging into the pipeline, strengthening pursuit discipline, pressure-testing win themes, improving go/no-go decisions, and helping the team compete for larger and more complex federal opportunities.

The strongest fit will bring deep GovCon capture experience, strong knowledge of federal procurement strategy, proven success with large federal pursuits, and experience in facilities management, operations and maintenance, real estate, smart buildings, workforce transformation, mission support, or adjacent federal services.

The role may be hired at the Vice President or Sr. Director level depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

·        Lead capture strategy for priority federal opportunities across facilities management, operations and maintenance, real estate, building technology, workforce transformation, mission support, and related service lines.

·        Own capture planning from opportunity identification through proposal submission.

·        Partner with executive leadership, business development, delivery, finance, pricing, operations, technical teams, and proposal resources.

·        Shape win strategies, competitive positioning, customer engagement plans, teaming approaches, solution narratives, and pursuit priorities.

·        Support strategic client engagement with federal customers, agency stakeholders, teaming partners, and industry contacts.

·        Evaluate and prioritize high-value opportunities using pipeline data, market intelligence, customer insight, and capture discipline.

·        Lead solution development efforts in collaboration with delivery, technical, pricing, and operations teams.

·        Support recompete strategy, contract retention, win-loss analysis, and continuous improvement of capture effectiveness.

·        Strengthen capture processes, tools, reporting, accountability, and decision-making without overcomplicating the business.

·        Use data analytics, CRM discipline, competitive intelligence, pipeline metrics, and emerging technologies to improve win probability and pursuit quality.

·        Help govern appropriate use of AI-enabled tools in capture and proposal environments, including accuracy, compliance, security, and human review.

·        Represent the company in customer meetings, local site visits, industry events, partner discussions, and strategic growth conversations.

·        Lead, mentor, and support a capable capture team while fostering initiative, accountability, practical problem-solving, and a builder mindset.

Qualifications:

·        8+ years of progressive experience in business development and capture management, ideally within the government contracting industry.

·        5+ years of leadership experience within BD, Capture, Growth, or a closely related function.

·        8+ years of GovCon experience with strong exposure to federal procurement, acquisition strategy, customer shaping, compliance requirements, and competitive pursuit processes.

·        Proven success supporting or leading large federal wins, ideally $50M+ opportunities.

·        Strong knowledge of full and open competition, recompetes, IDIQs, BPAs, GWACs, federal procurement strategy, and capture best practices.

·        Experience with facilities management, operations and maintenance, integrated facilities management, real estate solutions, property management, smart buildings, workforce transformation, mission support, or adjacent federal services.

·        Experience using data analytics, CRM systems, market intelligence, pipeline metrics, or win-loss analysis to improve capture decisions.

·        Exposure to AI-enabled tools in capture or proposal environments, including practical governance around responsible use.

·        Strong executive presence and the ability to engage credibly with senior leaders, federal customers, teaming partners, and internal stakeholders.

·        Comfort operating hands-on in a lean, scaling environment where the right person will learn the business, assess gaps, and build practical solutions rather than wait for perfect resources.

·        Entrepreneurial mindset with genuine excitement for business development, capture, problem-solving, and helping a growing company compete at the next level.

·        Bachelor’s degree required.

·        Ability to obtain a government security clearance.

·        Preferred qualifications include APMP certification, active security clearance, Top Secret clearance, property management or real estate experience, and experience improving CRM, capture management, pipeline reporting, or growth operating systems.

Benefits:

$190,000 - $215,000 base salary.

Approximately 15% annual incentive opportunity.

Competitive benefits package.

401(k) plan.
